Actress Bai Ling was born on October 10th, 1970, in China, into a typical Chinese family. People magazine named her one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world in a 1998 issue.
 
In 1999, she surprised everyone by shaving her head bald for her role as Tuptim in the remake of "Anna and the King."
